About me
In 2014 I started a little blog called theblerdgurl™ as a place to talk about all of the anime, comics, and superheroes. I also used the space to highlight Black and Brown comic book creatives and characters. Then, cut to 2017 and my career as a professional video editor and my fandom collided when I worked as a contact editor at San Diego Comic-Con for SYFYWIRE. That led to producer projects, my own column, a podcast, and the rest, as they say, is history.
Since then, I have hosted red carpet premieres and mainstages from New York Comic Con to Thought Bubble. I have been featured in The New York Times, The Guardian, and the Chicago Tribune. And I have bylines at Rotten Tomatoes , NERDIST, The Wrap and Mashable. In addition, I have consulted with everyone from indie conventions to larger companies like Jordan Brand helping them reach the ever expanding audience of Black nerds.
Currently, I co-host the horror movie podcast Pop Paranormal for Travel Channel and I am promoting my new Black Panther book Protectors of Wakanda: a History and Training Manual for the Dora Milaje for Marvel.
